Pump stators--how do they work
Why are more viens in the stator section, like mag pumps better? I've heard they create more pressure, but I'd think that you wouldn't want that. I realize they hold the bearig section in place, but it could be designed with one or two viens not 12! Does some one have insight on this or an article I could read? thanks

I just assumed that they straightened out the water flow exiting the impellor to give better thrust. But I'm not sure.

The vanes help straighten the flow. W/O them, the water would spin in the bowl and travel a much further distance to the nozzle thant if vanes were in place. The old saying "the shortest distance between two points is a straight line" is applied to this theroy.
