    2007 Seadoo RXT

I looked for a thread for this and couldn't find one so i thought i would make one.

I was wondering what is the break in process for an '07 Seadoo RXT. I am going to be picking mine up tomorrow, and would like to know what I have to do to break it in. Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. Break in opinions vary. When in doubt, do as the owner manual suggests. If you click the search tab at the top of the page and do a search for " break in procedure" you should find all you want to read. (try this link)

Ok Thank you. I also just saw something about ceramic washers ruining the engine. If that does happen is it covered by warranty? I am picking up my seadoo tomorrow and now i just saw this problem and i am very worried.

Yes there is a ceramic washer problem seems the 2007 are a little to prone to breaking within the first ride. Breakin should be as followed:

    1) Replace ceramic washers with Jerry's washer. (This should be done before the ski even sees the water.
    2) Very the throttle, or ride it like you would everyday.
    3) Go balls to wall, if you wallet can support the fuel consumption at WOT.
    4) Let the modding begin.

    RXT

I just picked up my 07 RXT yesterday. Put about 60 miles on. Worked great. Do not run at one speed for an extended period. Very the speed often with a w/o blast every now and then. This has worked for me for many years.

    Jerry's Washer $90

Some info about the Jerry's Washer replacement.

You might come across a few post, why worry about changing the washer if it's covered under warranty. The ceramic washers are covered under warranty, but when they go you'll be out of a ski for sometime (you might see if before next spring). By replacing the washers your ski will be down for 2 days-2 weeks depending on shipping and location, if you use ground.

Plus when the ceramics do go, it will more than likely send pieces into the engine, even after warranty repair there may be unseen damage to come back to haunt you later down the road.
