    bov problem

i bought a used IC charge pipe with a bung for bov and a turboxs bov-s came with it. Checked the action and re-installed bov then hooked it all up.

pulling vac from a tee in the map sensor boost line.

    doesn't work.

could the bov have too strong a spring rate? I've not messed with them that much.. used a porsche bypass on my car and just now changing to a stronger spring bypass for that, so i dont have much experience with bov's or adjusting them in.

any comments would be helpful, before i take it off and take it apart.

What kind of problem are you having. Not blowing off, leaking, please explain.

sorry. NOt blowing off. Have one on my supra (bypass not bov) and so i know how it's supposed to work and when and the sound.

this one is not releasing any air. No leaks, boost is awesome.

Do you have any Pics? Some of the XS have more than one referance line for it too work right. Someone might have put a really stiff spring in it but it still should release a little. Are you testing it on the water or on the trailer. Not sure how much if any boost you will see while it is out of the water with no load on the engine.

in the water, 15lbs of boost. I'll take it apart.. might have washers in it also, came with the pipe mod. It's a very simple bov-s for small hondas.

    thx,
    D.

I use the turbo XF BOV-H-RFL

Dave for that you need a spring of 5 PSI, i made mine. Just wrap one on a lathe and tested it

You can run test on the trailer. I blip mine and it opens when it idles down.

Forces wise? i can open it with my finger 7-8 lbs? This is my best guess of force with a finger. remember (3.14 R square = area) This is for PSI piston which is about 1.25 Dia. So thats close.

FYI, i run anywere from 14-24 PSI of manifold pressure with this setup
