No start, but getting fuel and spark?????

99 SLTH 700 i have GREAT spark and i can see fuel spraying into carbs, but the ski will not start??? I just replaced stator, coil and CDI was running great then while on water she wouldnt go over 3,500 rpm's then died. Im stumped can it be the reed's ?????

If you have spark, fuel and compression, then the only thing left is timing. Wich is normaly crank is out of index, but could be stator is out of time, coil wired wrong, or incorrect cdi box.

I'm thinking more like stator install as it was running well when he first got it together. Did you tighten the flywheel nut (as in torque it down?) and timing screws? Do you recall if the flywheel key was in place?

Flywheel nut was torqued down with locktite, Timing screws didnt touch them, the little plastic key was put in proper place. the thing that baffles me is that it was runnig PERFECT when put in water 30 min later she wouldnt go over 3,500 then went dead.

Little PLASTIC key? What plastic key? It should have been a steel woodruff key. If it was plastic, I'd be willing to bet it is sheared and your flywheel skipped time without it.
