Engine turns over but won't iddle

so I recently replaced the stator, starter. But now whenever I turn the ski on it turns over for like 5 sec and then it just stops. I wont stay on. What are your opinions and options for this problem.

So the starter cranks the engine for 5 seconds and then releases from the flywheel?

yup, I don't think the bendix is turning the flywheel. Is there a right way to put back the flywheel or bendix?

What ski is this problem on? And check to make sure the starter bolts are good and tight. I'm thinking a not so good ground, and the starter is over heating?

yea, there was actually no problem. It was just my mistake for not putting the pins the little pockets. But now whenever I try to turn the engine on theres a big noise coming for where the stator and the flywheel are.

I just opened the flywheel cover and there are pieces of metal. Im thinking its from the bendix trying to turn the flywheel but not connecting right and therefore they're grinding.

    Its a slt780

If you found metal, it's either starter, bendix or flywheel. Get a puller and remove the flywheel to access the bendix.

Make sure you clean the front covers out completely as anything that is magnetic or large enough can get caught between magnets on flywheel and stator coils and it can ruin them both .

    Cheers..
