I see discoloration gaps where the seal would be against the case. Is it sucking air or am I way off base?

The bottom reed stopper looks closer to the peddles than the top.

    The left/bottom cage looks bent.

Nate and Jim got it...the reed stop is bent by 5.5mm compared to the top pictured. Now to find out why it got bent, is another story. I would venture to guess it robbed major rpm's but not sure if it would be enough to rob take-off power to the point of being a pig out of the hole.

I will fix the reed stop...for those checking your OEM's always make sure they are not bent. I usually open them up a little bit over stock specs anyway.

Good eye finding that! I hope it helps fix the problem.

Dont open them any more than specs, we already tried 2 years ago that and they did not last at all, they lost thier memory and remained open.

I'll vouch for that - we tried that THREE years ago on my rebuild and a brand new set of stock reeds went out after only 20 hours.
