    grease fitting

I have a grease gun for automotive use but it does not fit the fittings on my polaris. Do I need an adapter?

what year? the one on the bushing should be standard and if you have one on your coupler ( not all do)just change it out to a standard otherwise an adapter is available

I have a 95 and both fittings on the output shaft are the neddle fittings.

I can change the one but I am not certain if the one under the cover will have enough clearance....

What I used to do is to put the nipple on the pto shaft one until I greased and then I put the needle one back on. You are right that a nipple one will rub the coupler cover. I had a needle fitting for my grease gun but it never worked right and more grease went out than in. It takes just seconds to swap the fittings and it's a much easier and cleaner job, imo. The fitting on the through hull could be swapped for a nipple if it didn't come as a nipple. It will not rub on anything.

Needle adapter found at auto parts stores cost around $4. Mine works great.

    awsome...

I'm gonna change the fittings and change the one under the coupler cover then change it back.

I'll take some pics when done!

    Thanks,

    P

xlint89, Yeah that's what I had and I hated it. Maybe the needle fitting was messed up? I don't know. I just put a nipple one on, greased and put the needle one back.

Maybe yours was boogered up? Both mine take grease with no problem. Coupler and through hull, 2 squeezes and it comes out on the driveshaft.
