How are you measuring the engine temp?

I've never seen my run over 195 and most the time it's between 145-160. Keep in mind nothing I own has a thermostat and the water here is usually pretty cool.

Hey, i have read a few other posts about operating temp and the pros/cons of a therm- , is the engine temp more critical for a DI motor compaired to a carb'd motor. i would like to change over to the pissers if i can.

It's more important in terms of fuel economy, engine performance should actually be better with no thermostat as the EMM should deliver more fuel thinking the craft is still cold?? Of course fuel mileage will suffer.

Just some thoughts as I think aloud here.
