    Post Known Problems - 250X

    I`m starting a thread to advise other owners of known faults with the ski that will be in one place and updated as things change.
    Feel free to add info as we go/find stuff.
    I`ll start with :
    #1 - Exhaust hose clamps being loose.
    #2 - Poor silicone sealing in pump shoe and grate.
    #3 - Loose hood bolts
    #4 - Oil overfill from factory
    #5 - Loose/missing dash gage pod bolts.
    #6 - S/C clutch tensioner bearing fault or bolt comming loose with belt damage.
    #7 - Spark Plug failures - subtitute plug # CR9EIX - Factory O/E PMR9B

    Should be part of a recall list especialy with the SC belt failure or at a minumum a STICKY on things to check for new Ultra owners. Maybe we should compile the list and submit it to Kawasaki.

    Or put this in the "ULTRA FAQ and tips " Sticky ,since that is where I went when I first came to this board. I agree that it should be a running check list. Heck most things on that list are minor but can help alot of people avoid future headaches.

    Needs to happen to more then just two boats for it to be a issue. So I think 5 and 6 are not valid and I dont understand #3. My hood seems loose but the bolts are tight.

    I completely agree with #1 #2 #4 and #7

    Since today i experienced:
    #1 (2miles offshore,6hours on ski)
    #2
    #3
    #6 (happened to a friend,i towed him a few miles,he had 12hours)
    #7 (100m from the beach, 7hours on ski)

    I wish next year it will be MADE IN JAPAN and not at the states by some poor immigrants.
    You forgot to mention tools found in the hull by many people.

    Hey skip. #3 was found loose on the top half of the hood support on mine. Someone else had this fault also.
    This is a thread to help new owners and those that don`t have the ability to help themselves.
    It`s an FYI for everyone.

    Has the paint problem been so easily forgotten? Red paint that can be scratched off with a finger nail and worn through right down to the white SMC by when trailering with a factory cover. At least one instance of silver paint that is peeling off.

    found Iridium CR9EIX from local O'reilly auto parts for $6.99 .
