Who rebuilds their own RXP pumps???

I started digging into mine and I found that I didn't have all the necessary tools nor the experience to tackle it myself...anyways my dealer is charging me $580 and I have to wait another week because they don't have all the necessary parts in stock.

So who does their own rebuilding of RXP pumps? Any special tools or tricks? Could someone post a "How To" on this if you do your own?

    Thanks

PPG is located in Florida right? I'm located in the northern lower peninsula of Michigan. I've missed enough riding time this summer as is and am just having my dealer get it done. I just want to ride and next week is the soonest I can do that. I just started this thread for future reference.

all you need is a small press to push the bearing assmbly out....and the new parts........cheap presses can be had at harbour freight / tracktor supply, ect.....WAY CHEAPER than $600..... to replace EVERY rotating part in the pump (bearings, sleeves, shaft, ect) is like $250 & thats a COMPLETE rebuild.....and you may just need shaft & bearings.

JOJO, don't you have to modify your driveshaft or something else to allow for the tripple bearing mod? I didn't think you could simply have it put in the pump, plug in, and go?

No you dont. It bolts right up. Check the classifieds, Peteshauling is selling a stock pump on there as well. He is in your territory...Michigan.
For 580 you could buy his and rebuild yours.
