are you an Old-Timer?
since when did waveeater clips come made of stamped and bent spring steel instead of machined billet like i put on my gpr back in the day?!? I'm wondering if i should've saved em so i could say "back when I-I-I used to mod gpr's we had waveeaters that looked like THIS" and pull one off the shelf... i just bought a new set for a bud..

I will show my age on this. With the 1st set I bought, you had to pull the rod that goes throught the power valve assembly and slide the coupler on, then reinstall the arm.

The sad thing is how well known this problem is, and how long its taken Yam to remedy it.

Manufacturers can be pathetically slow to re engineer a weak link. It took chevrolet from 1955 to 1986 to finally get rid of their forever leaking cork valve cover gaskets on the small block chevy before they made the move to a real neoprene rubber gasket. 31 years! Figure it out and your a genius..
