Aftermarket. We ride the ocean out here in Vancouver and I get too much cavitation at times.
I did check ebay and found a seller who has a couple, however he won't give me a shipping cost until after the sale. #*#!
Well....I know it to be under 20.00 and don't want to be bilked for 50.00 ("if ya know what I mean") LoL
    Thanks.

    Post Solas Intake Grate SD-IG-B

I went for the least expensive version and waiting for the mail to arrive sometime this week.
I went for the Solas Intake Grate SD-IG-B at $72.00.

My problem has been with hook-up in choppy waters and after I try this, I will post the results as it was already difficult finding any more information or performance opinions on this item.

Worx has proven to be the best for an X-4 hull. You will see a great improvement over stock with the Solas though. Good luck!

I gotta say, it was pretty confusing looking at the differences in geometry and trying to mentaly feel what it would do under water. Are there major difefferences?
There just isn't a well enough verse to figure it out. Almost like you have to buy them all/try them all??
Any recomendations for a possible second purchasse?

There aren't major differences, it is how much speed each grate scrubs off top end. They all improve hookup substantially over stock. Some hook better than others. The Worx hooks up excellent, without scrubbing any top speed on stock to slightly modded applications. Or at least up to 65 mph.

A comparison was done in 98 Watercraft World with all the grates, and the Worx won hands down.

And...I already told you what to get for the second purchase...which will be your last...

I was so happy to get the new part in, crawled under the doo with a quartz just to find that some dumb ass before me had tried to remove the rear screws on the stock intake grate with the wrong tool. Ya...heads were stripped something bad and I had to drill and re-tap. I gotta say it's frustrating when little surprises like this come up. Cost: 40.00 in materials and 4 hours time vs. a $5.00 tool that would have done the job properly.
    Arg..........
