Gp1200-What's my problem??
Sorted out the stumble in carburation-lows had to come out just shy of a quarter turn.
I have Riva fa's, pro tec 150 psi head, water bypass, R&D intake, pro-Tec ride plate and Solas 13/19.
Comes off clean out of the hole, and goes onto about 6850 rpm (Tiny Tach).
All would seem good in the world-BUT- a friends Gp1200 with just a Riva intake grate, and a Skat swirl 13/19, keeps up with me everywhere! I might be a few mph quicker than him on glass, but we never see glass on the ocean. I would have expected half a dozen boat lenghts or so on him out of the hole, but nothing-They are side by side!
All under the hull looks fine, and in the right plasce- no trim tabs on either ski-his is alate 98, mine 99.
Anybody have any ideas???

From what I can remember that Pro-Tec plate handled decent but was slow. I think 97GPSLEEPER uses a modded R&D.
Have either one of you rejetted your carbs?

The swirl is a superior impeller in the rough stuff. You also need a longer ride plate for rough water.

I think J-MI got it Swirl and you might want to try the shredmaster plate.Does he have a 0 deg or 5 deg nozzle

the swirl is the difference-if you had glass water you would walk by him-mark

Thanks. I was suspecting the prop myself, because everything else looks good.
Didn't think about the nozzle-I will check.
