    Ok.....vent time :(

I called a company about ordering a bigger power supply for my comp.bla bla bla....On his web site it lists a 460watt Dell, which i have a Dell,so i called him AND also e-mailed him, asking him if this aplication will work for me and he said yes.I had it next day aired for $56.30 got it this morning, installed it,no power! I then called Dell and they told me it will NOT work because of my motherboard......Long story short, the guy was 100% wrong and will take the power supply back but will not give me the shipping it cost me! What would you do?

I'm in need of a Dell power supply as well. Unfortunately they have a special plug that aren't compatible with regular power supplies....I guess you now know this.

anywho, if you have email proving he was wrong I would try my hardest to get everything back, including shipping both ways. Good luck though, it is going to be hard getting any money out of this clown, threaten to take him to small claims court. If you can't get any money out of him, have a yearly subscription of gay porn sent to his place of business.

Oh damn............i was bustin up after reading the gay porn deal.Yes,the Dell uses a P2 (16pin) along with a 24 to the motherboard. The 16Pin or P2 plug is what the battle is.Best Buy was trying to sell me a new computer but my Dell P4 is fast.Problem is,i just bought a Sony High def camcorder/still pic unit and i need to upgrade to a G-Force 7300 512DDR graphics card and the card has its own power plug and requires a 350watt supply ! My card plays it now but it stalls here and there, not 100% smooth.Im @ 512 ram and might try 1024 and see if that helps.

Watch out for that ram. I just got two sticks of 1GB ram to bring my mem up from 512, problem I'm havin is the computer shutting off. I take one stick out and everything is fine (doesn't matter which one) I suspect overworked power supply or colling problem, these dells suck when it comes to upgrades.

Back in the AOL days and before spam was as bad as it is now I got into my friends AOL account and signed him up for all kinds of porn, religious, ect email lists, it was hilarious listening to him bitch about it. For that guy that has screwed you I'd also call up all the "free bible" commercials I saw on TV and get him one.

    Google these part numbers:

    ATXPW300DELL
    ATXPW400DELL

NewEgg, CompUSA, Buy.com all carry them on line. Check to see if your model is included in the compatible list. If not, there is going to be a 350 Watt one launched soon that looks after a few other models. It the ones above don't work, post your model number and I can look into it on Monday.

They might not be bigger, but at least they might be compatible.

same thing happened to me , I found out that you need to get the ram manufactured from the same batch or lot numbers, they might be a few nano seconds off from each other and it makes the computer go stupid. I wound up with a gig strip(one strip) and it works fine...took back the 2 512 strips because of the above problems....dont forget to sign the guy up for the minuature horses, that way the postman will think a gay midget cowboy lives there...and if I have offended any gay midget cowboys I am very sorry
