    Ext warranty on an 05

I have an 05 RXP and am comming up on my factory warranty. After hearing a lot of stories regarding the SC Clutch I was probably going to get the extended 3 yr but the dealer wants $999.00 Does this sound right and is it my only option. I really don't want to have to think about the clutch going and figure this is the best way. Any suggestions?

Check e-bay for cheaper B.E.S.T. warranties or talk to Shibby.

it shouldn't be that much if you're still in the mfg's warranty. I thought Bomb established a price for BEST but I suppose the dealer can charge whatever someone will pay. But any dealer can sell it to you.

Is it even worth buying a extended warranty? I was told that with the deductions that they charge you plus the all to many "its not covered" also I was told its not worth the extra money if you take care of it and do the scheduled maintenance

i won't be caught alive without a extended warranty... and that's coming from someone that has fairly decent connections. Technically, $50 dollar deductible for warranty work. Obviously user's fualt isn't covered, so if u flip the ski and ingest water, or suck up a rock and destroy your pump, ur not covered, jsut like the 1 year warranty.

you blow your SC, destroy the motor, break a motor mount, guages fail, float some valves, snap your camchain, destroy oil pumps... that's some costly work and YES they are covered under warranty....

They don't break often, but if they do

if your just tinkering with external engine mods, get the warranty in my opinion. if you got cams, porting work, internal mods to the head or engine then i don't think a warranty will do you very much good.

you warranty is as good as your dealer.... and being able to say you have a good dealer comes hand in hand with some sort of business relationship or understanding with them. If you got a good for nothing dealer that u hate and he doesn't know you from a hole in the wall, then maybe you will get the line "oh, this isn't covered"

Worth every penny IMO! When I had a SC problem that ended up stripping out the PTO gear inside the engine, sending schrapnel through out the entire engine $50 deductable beats over $3,000 in parts, and labor any day!!

Just a follow up question. Has anyone on here gotten the warranty off of EBAY? Seems like all is legit and it'll save me $250. Just wanted some feedback before I pulled the trigger on it.

I think Shibby summed it up. Your warranty is only as good as your dealer!
