More bad news
Iv been helping my friend work out his 99 ultra 150 for a while. an today the battery light went out while we were riding . The light stayed on all day. Then at the end of the day the ski woudl start if you put the lanyard in with out even hitting the start button. So im thinking, bad solinioid, bad voltage regulator an i need a new handel bar switch assembly. Anything else that could be the culprit. Its just one problem after another.

Sounds like it could be the switch or the solinioid probably not both. You might want to watch the starter could be turning while its running. That could be where that low bat warning is comming from. Time to get out that volt meter and start trouble shooting good luck with it.

Check the start button first - I had a similar issue with my 2000 Ultra 150 - As soon as I put the lanyard on it would try to start but I didn't have a battery issue because the morning the problem began I didn't ride, just packed up and went back home - This happened sometimes in 2004 - I will try and locate the paper work from where I ordered the replacement button - however I am almost positive I ordered it through Kawi. Good luck.

Well we ordered the start button, the soliniod, an the regulator. 400 bucks for all that. Good thing we dont need a mechanic too install it. wooo that would suck!
