I use JB Waterweld in the rideplate holes and a good marine silicone to fill in the intake grate holes and gaps.

Are you able to remove the jb weld if you have to remove the ride plate for some reason?

The trick from the old GH blog is to wrap a piece of ski rope or something of the sort around the bolt head. That way if you have to remove the epoxy you can get it out with a hammer, but won't break the head of the bolt.

I filled them with silicone sealant, mainly asa an experiment - it has held for nearly 10 hours. As a variation on the rope theme, I put some "O" rings over the bolt heads to keep the amount of sealant down. I must admit I'm suprised it has lasted!
