    Broke a GAS power valve.

You can imagine my surprise. It is on a GPR1200 GK Sleeper. Any one ever have this problem? I though that with the gas valves this issue was put to bed.

Any one ever have this problem with the gas valves or what to do to keep this from happening again? It is a clean break right where the shaft and valve meet. No damage to the cylinder. The only thing that I can figure is that the valve with over 100 racing hours was fatigued.

Wow, Salty - haven't heard of that one. Glad you picked up on it before it caused any damage.

We melted the plastic valves. When installing the valves make sure that you can raise and lowerit w/o any problems.

Give Lowell a call he was telling me a few weeks ago about valves breaking he has a solution for this. I can't remember all the details so give him a ring.

Thanks Bill, Fernando. I'll give Lowell a call. Even though this seems to be a rare issue, it should be covered in this type of forum. If I can get the word out it could save others a few dollars and lots of down time.

IMHO understanding why it is happening is just as important as trying to prevent it. The question going on in my mind now is should I change out the other two due to fatigue concerns? Hopefully, Lowell will have a definitive answer.
