The E-trex is a good basic unit. I use the E-trex simply because of price. I am not going to spend a lot of money on something that I MAY drop or loose.

I just bought a Ram Mount and bolted it directly to the glove box lid. I do not have any pics but will be more than happy to get you one this evening when I get home.

I think that most people use the Foretrex 201 (I think this is correct) because it has a wrist band that you can just wrap around the handle bars and it is a lot smaller.

Most of the Texas group use the Garmin Fortrex 201 or Forerunner 201.

Velcro wrist strap. Its small and light weight, so you can strap it around the bars near the controls.

I have the Foretrex and it is a nice unit. I am very happy with it and have used it in several countries on several trip and have found it to be very accurate and easy to use. The price is good too. Hope this helps.
