    water pumping in hull!!

i have a brand new ultra 250 x. with less than 1 hour on ski, cruising at approx 25 mph ski shut off and would not restart.replaced plugs with cr9eix as i thought plugs fouled out. new plugs it started up but ski had sat for 4 hours before i replaced plugs.it shut off 20 seconds after it cranked up. i then noticed about 3 inches of water in hull..when turning starter it looked as if water was being pumped into hull, light splashing of water just behind engine. any suggestions or anyone seen this?" thanks

    Wink

Screw the hull plugs in before launching.......??????????
Make sure the siphon tubes are tied up at the top just behind the inter-cooler.
Make sure the siphon tubes are connected to the pump nipples.
Check for any loose, non-attached hoses.

seems like your exhaust hoses came off. Check them.

If it looks like water coming from the rear with pressure it is an exhaust hose that came off.I had the same problem at 5hr.

The exhaust popping off would also have caused the engine to stop.

My engine didnt stop when the hose came off.
There was a huge drop of rpm to about 2500-3000.
Take out the rear seat cover and check everything.
    2 simple tests:
a)are you taking in water when the engine is off?If no its the exhaust hose.
b)take it out of the water ,drain it and start filling the engine compartment with fresh water from a hose at a gas station. If water doesnt go out then its the exhaust hose.

Just grab the exhaust hose and see if it loose, geez.

Why are you folks making things so complicated?

You would be better off NOT connecting the water to the ski at all.

No need to run it more than 15sec or so.

The correct way is to CRANK THE SKI FIRST, then turn on the water....

TURN THE WATER OFF FIRST, then turn the ski off.
