Help need Insurance claim advice
I brought my '95 Polaris SLX to a dealer for a service extimate last Thurs. Over the weekend it was stolen from their locked yard along with 3 other PWC's. They are asking me to claim the theft on my insurance, which I unfortunately don't have. I think they should be covering this. Anyone know if I'm out the cost of the ski or are they obligated to cover the claim?

They want you to claim it,but it was stolen from THEIR property?!?!!?!?
To hell with that..........i'd contact my lawyer first. Then kindly let them
know you are not claiming it on yours and you have your lawyer standing by.
Just my opinion..........It was not your fault so why would you have to claim it

I know it sucks, but if negligence can't be proved and someone really did break into their lot you won't be able to successfully sue.
I would however contact their insurance company, call the cops and have a report filed and tell the business owner that you will make sure everyone you know won't take their business there after you let them know property isn't safe.

if they won't file a police report saying the jetski was stolen from their yard, then YOU file a report saying THEY stole the ski.
the company owes you the return of your ski, or equivalent financial compensation.

They did file a police report. Someone broke into their lot throught two crated Sleds a locked 6 ft fence and a non-running forklift to steal my ski and three others. They left my single trailer and another single trailer but took the double with two ski's on it. The guy I talked to from the dealer said they thought a bobcat was used to move the sleds and fork lift.

talk to your area district attorney. they should inform you of the steps to take.

most dealerships have signs posted that says there not liable for stolen property or it is on the work order that you signed i believe that stands up in court

I guess we'll see what happens. I plan to ask them to claim it.
