    Question another carb question..!!

    Hey carb guys...

    need to pick your brains a little here...

    ok my ongoing dilema is going from tripple pipes to a single(stinger2....yeah i know..)

    so got most of it mounted up just waiting on new jets turning up..(the UK sucks for parts)

    now bear with me.. while pulling the carb rack off.. i have in this order..!!
    carbs onto the factory manifold(the bit with the balance channels), after that is a 1/4 inch thick plate..??
    NO gasket in between..?? just blue instant shit..!!
    on the other side of this plate is a gasket (the one with stripey shit on it), next is the reed plate..!!

    SO what i'm wondering is what is this plate..?? can't find any reference to it (anywhere), looked in the workshop manual..
    AND on boats.net..??? also looked at the riva parts site since this ski has loads of BADLY fitted riva stuff..

    unfortunately i can't take a picture till tomorrow gents..

    all i'm really needing to know is, should it be there..?? or is it yet more useless shit..??

    The plate you are talking about holds the reed cages in, and there should be a gasket between that and the carb manifold. It's a long, one piece gasket.

    Wait a minute....just re-read your post. You should have these parts, in this order: carbs; carb base gaskets; manifold; one piece manifold gasket; reed plate; and reeds. I'm going off memory here, because I have an aftermarket setup, but I believe this is right.

    Someone else care to help?

    Should be something like this. I am assuming you have stock reeds

    case//reeds//reed plate//gskt//spacer//gskt//balance plate//gskt//carb

    Yup, there should be a gasket in between.

    1-Gasket
    2-Spacer
    1-Gasket

    Gasket on both sides of the 1/4" spacer.

    The picture Scott (flying s) has up and Billy(rx) has it in his diagram well done boys..!!

    I've already downloaded the workshop manual a LONG time ago guys..!!! shows nothing of this plate.?????(weird)

    OK Billy boy where are you getting these NICE accurate diagrams from..???????

    Well the good news is I've ordered new carb base gaskets and manifold ones too..
    SO won't have to wait weeks for these too..!! was promised delivery wed 11th..?? we'll see

    Also when i putting it back together will i/is it ok to use 1211 as I've some of it here..?

    Here's what going in the carbs 110 lows, 122.5(if available) or 125 hi's, 1.5 n/s, having some difficulty getting 95gr springs(for now),
    I have 115gr's in the carbs now with 112.5 lows 142.5 hi's and a 2.3 n/s when it was a tripple pipe..!!

    What should i do if the 95gr springs don't turn up in the package..???
    I also have a gp1200 with it guts lying on the garage floor, according to the manual it uses a 1.5 needle and seat.!
    No mention of the spring through.. could i rob these carbs meantime..?????

    Also coming in the post is a 14/20 concord and a PET2100 finally got round to buying one..!!!

    will i be able to turn the 14/20 with 150psi heads, advent, 13/19 etc basically a tripple spec ski...
    Minus the pipes but with a stinker2...(deliberate spelling mistake)

    In the winter I play indoor soccer I didnt last year though.
    Just amature shit but I need to get back out there my old outdoor team disbanded.
    I am getting quite fat and old and spend way to much time sitting on my arse behind the computer.
    Been playing here around 15 years I guess

    Jets can be swaped from GP to GPR as long as they are the right size
    On my GP I have always used dry gaskets no sealler but recently tried grease.
    Grease holds gaskets in place and sealls really well
    I dont use 1211 on gaskets I use it on the C/Case only.
    Congrats on the PET2100 I have a Tiny tach and its slow as shit.
    Springs can be trimmed if there to strong but I would get the right ones.
