    I admit I know nothing . . .

about these things. I have just bought a couple 650sl's. One of the batteries doesn't seem to hold a charge and the machine won't run. The other one ran last night and it seemed Ok but today all it sounds like the choke might be stuck and it has no power. It seems to exhaust an abundance of blue smoke and there is a high pitch alarm of some sort sounding.

could someone please let me know what the alarm could mean and also what could be causing the the problems.

I have searched through the forums and have the troubleshooting guide (I don't have an owners manual though) and can't seem to find the answers myself

    Thanks in advance
    Dave

Welcome Dwash. How long was the ski running for, and did you have water running through it when it was running? You may have heard the overheat alarm if it ran for longer than 10 secs. Or it may be the low oil alarm. There is a manual posted in the tech section that may help you.

    Thanks guys,
Don't know what year but it is called "lettle digger" if that helps.

Wasn't run out of water but did go through seaweed. Don't see any in the impeller and don't know where the water pickup is.
    I'll look for the manual.

The water intake is on the back end of the jet pump (follow the long tube). It's possible you sucked up some seaweed.
