    2003 Gpr ?

Since my 2000 is down, my wife said maybe we should pick up a newer GPR and build it up a little, then as time permits fix my 2000. Then we can take both gprs one trip if we want to and leave the 3 seater home, visa versa. Also we wont miss trips we have planned in the next month. So I found a 2003 GPR with 33 hours, bone stock. Lets say I put on my:

    1. Jims FF plate
    2. 14/20 dyna and 05 pump
    3 800 grate
And left the head and cylinders stock, would I see 70 mph?
I seem to remember a lot of you guys getting good speed with low comp and no porting.

Does the 2003 have the extended pump? I really would like a 2005 or newer so I can avoid the powervalves. Thanks guys.

    1. You wont be able to turn a DF without any engine mods.
    2. I would check the pump tunnel by removing the shoe before you buy it
    3. You could buy a DF and send it to Impros so that they can depitch it and then machine it.
    4. If you buy it and want to go NON P/V, I have a set of NON P/V cylinders and pistons stiiting on a motor with 0 hours on it. We can work out a deal.

Thanks guys. I could put my 1300 Lamey ported jugs on and turn that prop. What about a fuel controller? I am new to EFI.

You could put a bigger nozzle on to turn that screw.

The controller isn't really necessary on a stock motor, but there is a slight advantage of having it on a PV motor.

The out of box 14/20's are all over the place from what I have seen and heard on here. Anywhere from 13/19 to 15/21 I think. I have seen that they make a 13/19 dynafly now. That is what I would go with if you didn't want to do any more mods. Your not going to beable to turn that 14/20 correctly with just a bigger nozzle. I tried that and it didn't work.

This is what I would do

    2005 Pump Upgrade
    13/19 Dynafly
Stock 85mm Nozzle with bildge tube and sprayer out
    FF Plate
    800 Grate
Take the metal flame arrestors out of the stock air box and the tubing off the front
    Air Flow Mods

I think that should get you there but one thing I know for sure. Don't go with the 14/20 unless you atleast want to do a head or reeds.

I don't mean to brag but my wife is awesome. Let me put it this way: I don't dare talk about anything I want near her because if she hears it she will go and buy it and surprise me. She did that in 1994 when she totally surprized me with a new Harley softail custom for christmas. I just about pooped my depends when that happened. Yeah it was cool but it left me with 4 years of payments! She is a very un-selfish girl, always thinking about others and never asking for anything. In light of that, I should just go buy her a new GPR since this is really her boat anyway. But then I am buying 7 year old technology, and I would hate to do that then drop 3 grand into making it go fast only to learn that next month Yamaha is coming out with an all new GPR.
