    JET WORKS BATTERY

    Found out today from ART at Jetworks that they are coming out with a gel battery like the KB35 for the four strokes here in the next few weeks!

    JFYI

    Somebody needs to do something different. The stock one is undersized.

    Replaced my dead battery with an EnerSys P/N: 0765-2001 12V 26V Genesis Glass Matt Battery. I bought it from Batteries of Arizona at 480-288-8848. They are not always available, since it is used in many military applications. His website is www.batteriesaz.com but I never found it on his site.

    He also sells an Odessey Battery, which is basically the retail version of the Genesis. It is a PC 925L style battery. Do a search on it. http://www.odysseybatteries.com/battery/pc925l.htm

    It is SORT OF a direct fit. The battery terminals are on the side, and on this battery they are switched sides, which isn't a problem for an RXP. It is shorter than the stock battery. To install it, I took the plastic spacers out of the bottom bracket. Then reinstalled the bottom bracket. Installed the battery and hooked it up. Put the plastic top bracket in place, and used 5 washers (8mm) on each side, along with the original nut. Don't overtighten it.

    It cranks and runs fine. I have no long term data to say it will work. Just sharing what I know.

    Will do.

    I'll go throw a DVM on it right now. I'll check it before I crank it next time, and after it sits a while.

    Okay,
    it's at 13v right now.

    Interestingly, when I got the battery, it was charged to 80% according to my charger. I put it on the charger and left it there till it was at 100% before installing it.

    $130. Dealer wanted $120 for acid battery, and was out for 3 weeks.

    PC925L=28amp hour battery
    STOCK=30amp hour battery

    So its not a better battery than the stocker but it is probably a more reliable battery than stock
