    Differences Between GP1300R Model Years

Are there differences between say a 2003 GP1300R and a 2005? Is 2007 really the last year? Is it worth paying a premium to buy new?

    Thanks

    2003-2004 motors have Powervalves
2005-2007 motors do not have Powervalves

From 2003 - current are all EFI

03 to 07 are fuel injected.

03-04 old style pump, old style inserts, no bilge pump, have powervalves, are 165 hp

05-07 170 hp, new style pump, new inserts, bilge pumps, no powervlaves, better matts, seat is a little narrower.

For my money I think that the 05 is the best year as the hull is white. I am sure there is something I am forgetting about one or two things that are different.

The 03s do have the bilge pump. I would assume if the 03 has it, so does the 04.

    03/04 is 297KG dry 165HP

    05/06 is 297KG dry 170HP

    07 is 306KG dry 170HP

Powervalves (with couplers and clips) will give far better low and mid range (holeshot).

The exit nozzle on all of the 1300's is 85mm. 2003-2007, thanks jeffsntx

The 03/04 requires the following upgrades: powervalve couplers + clips, either HO pump upgrade and/or blueprinted pump, turfing (optional).

So idealy, you would prob want the 05, as you will save on the above mods, at the cost of low and mid range.

(i do know i would NOT want an 07 gp1300R, 9KG heavier, than the rest, which = slower)

    (sorry, im a powervalve fan)
