    K&N air filter

If I put a k&n filter in place of the rubber boot on my stock 95 slt 750 flame arrestor would that reduce the air flow and make it run a little richer?I have put on about 20 hours since I bought it and replaced pto piston and rebuilt the carbs and can't get mag or ctr plugs to get any darker. I'm 3 turns out and only have a little color on those two plugs. I was hoping I could rejet this winter.Only thing I did was went premix and 3 outlet fuel pump. Wash is ok but not great. Or do you think it's ok since it has'nt hole a piston yet?

    Thanks

f/a would make it run leaner , same amount of fuel but more air make sense

i think you have 2 rejet it if you went premix

Adding this in place of the rubber end peice on the stock 750 f/a-Would'nt it cut back on the air flow? since theres nothing cutting back on the air flow on the rubber boot?

I can't say for sure since I have never tried that but, I am reasonably sure that is not going to restrict air enough to change your air/fuel ratio. Remember, K&N filters are designed to provide better air flow. Sounds like that would only be a band aid fix at best.

    Just my 2 cents,

mboley, did you install the return restrictor?
Do you have a picture of the piston wash?
3 turns out definately screams re-jet or lack of fuel supply BUT why, what are all your mods to this point?
I wouldn't run it until you get the problem adressed, one second worth of lean running and you're done.

new pto piston, all new fuel lines with restrictor, fuel filters, new water seperator, 780 3outlet fuel pump, went premix 40:1, rebuilt all carbs low jet was clogged on pto, added finger throttle-base still cracked though. have ran for more than 20 hours like this it runs awsome.

How can adding a filter on to end of plenium improve air flow if theres nothing there to begin with?
