K&N air filter
If I put a k&n filter in place of the rubber boot on my stock 95 slt 750 flame arrestor would that reduce the air flow and make it run a little richer?I have put on about 20 hours since I bought it and replaced pto piston and rebuilt the carbs and can't get mag or ctr plugs to get any darker. I'm 3 turns out and only have a little color on those two plugs. I was hoping I could rejet this winter.Only thing I did was went premix and 3 outlet fuel pump. Wash is ok but not great. Or do you think it's ok since it has'nt hole a piston yet?

f/a would make it run leaner , same amount of fuel but more air make sense
i think you have 2 rejet it if you went premix

I can't say for sure since I have never tried that but, I am reasonably sure that is not going to restrict air enough to change your air/fuel ratio. Remember, K&N filters are designed to provide better air flow. Sounds like that would only be a band aid fix at best.
Just my 2 cents,

mboley, did you install the return restrictor?
Do you have a picture of the piston wash?
3 turns out definately screams re-jet or lack of fuel supply BUT why, what are all your mods to this point?
I wouldn't run it until you get the problem adressed, one second worth of lean running and you're done.

How can adding a filter on to end of plenium improve air flow if theres nothing there to begin with?
