Need help dialing in carbs..
Ok guys Finally got all my bits and pieces together to redo these stinking carbs of mine..
with my set up which is...
150psi riva heads. advent, reed stuffers(riva.?), 13/19 concord, maybe 14/20 later..??, primer
riva f/a's, riva old style plate, riva extended tabs, some pump cone thing, arse-metric or something..??
AND the ever unpopular stinker2 pipe..!!!
SO i'm going with 110 low's, 122.5 hi's, 1.5 n/s, 95gr spring..!!
t-handles on the lows, couldn't get any hi's (out of stock..??)
the BIG question is..... how many turns out on each to get me started..??
Also can someone explain the things i might encounter i.e bogging..??, falling on its face..?? etc etc etc..,
more importantly what i need to do to correct it..??
I'm slowly getting an understanding of carbs.. BUT can anyone point me in the direction of good carb reading..
Mainly about needles and seats.? why the different sizes..???
WHAT the hell pop off means and does.!
Ok Gents this is all gonna happen tomorrow (sat)

Just don't have the energy right now to answer all your questions, but start with 1 1/4 out on the lows. That's where mine was happiest when I had a setup similar to yours.

AND... i'm heading out the door now, to go for a workout..??

Anyone else help out with dilemma..??
Don't need all the info just someone to explain the difference's.. on what bogging is etc..??
Also where these dang adjusters need to be at..!!
Do i start at say 2 out on the hi's then watch the tach (my new pet2100 actually s/h) each time i turn em back in..???
But is it half's or quarter turns at a time or even eighths...????
What about the lows what do they do..??
Man i hate not knowing this shit..
Need help guys..

Set the lows at 1 to 1 1/4 turns out. Start with the highs at 1 1/2 turns out. Do wot pass note rpms. take the highs out to 1 3/4s turns and see if rpms improve or lower. If not right start bumping the highs in 1/8 turn NO MORE THAN THAT FOR EACH TESR?RUN. You will eventually gain rpms and then lose them once you go in a bit to far. Once this happens back out 1/4 turn and call it good.

Hey Quad, Group K has a pretty good educational piece on their website about carbs, take a look it may answer some of your questions.

1 on the lows 1.5 on the highs. I know where you can get a good stock stinger to dump the Riva stinger. Jeff has one and I have a good part to make it good. I already contacted jeff. All I would need for the part is shipping.
I would get rid of the pump cone and put the stock one in.
