Riva IC leak test? How do I?
Ok my ehaust temp alarms going off again so I'm back to square one. I did clean it all out but obviosly not good enugh. Since I will have to remove it this time how do I clean it good? How do I test it to make sure its not leaking? I did notice water coming out of the intake when I forogt to tighten one clamp but that was also when I had just cleaned it. Can I hook one line up to a garden hose and clamp the other off and see if water comes out the air part or is that to much pressure? Is it bad to plug off the exhaust water at the end and dump the rest into the pissers? This is totaly frustrating.

Try the garden hose to the inlet side of the IC and see how much if any pressure comes out the outlet side of the IC !

I put the garden hose on one side and let the water flow thru to check the water flow ,and then put a pressure gauge on the water outlet to block the water flow and pressure it up to not over 40 psi ,then look inside I/C for water leaks.

I haven't tried this but I've heard of others doing it and finding leaks even though the IC passed the hose test...
Leave the IC in the ski and hooked up, but remove the pipe going from the throttle bosy to the IC. Go out and run wide open throttle. You will only be able to see 6000-7000RPM, but you will be able to stick a rag or look in the IC and see if it's leaking. This will better simiulate how the IC is functioning under riding conditions.

here`s a few pics: Don`t really know if this will help you. I tested this Riva IC before I passed it along to another forum member... no leaks...PR...
