'95 SP "peters out" at WOT

'95 SeaDoo SP (580 engine).. Just rebuilt the carb and the issue still persists..
Didn't replace any parts in the carb this time, bought a new rubber diaphram and needle valve on one side, and the check valves and clear diaphram on the fuel pump side last year.

Ski starts and idles great.. When I go from idle to WOT, it runs like a scalded dog for about 10 seconds, then seems like it just runs out of power and comes back, then peters out again and so on.. It's not smoking, plugs don't foul, and the engine doesn't die.. It's just very annoying.

I've reset the carb to the OEM jet positions, IDLE at 1 1/4, and HIGH at 0, and played with the settings for about 2 hours.. The only response I get is with the HIGH jet, and I can only make the problem worse.

Oh, and I've never touched the oil injection system.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Sounds like fuel to me. Make sure your lines are clear, and that there are no bubbles being fed to the carbs at WOT. Mine did the same thing

what did you fix to remedy the problem? replaced the lines?

and can I use DOT spec fuel hose?
or should I use the OEM seadoo hose sor some specific reason?

Mine is right before my on/off switch. Try running it on reserve or looking for bubbles when you gun it. Your fuel filter will be almost empty if its fuel. Also could be a bad fuel pump, and it cant pull fast enough to keep up at WOT.

The valve was trashed, disentegrated rubber clogging one of the outlets..

Replaced the fuel valve, as well as the 10 feet of fuel line that runs from the tank to the valve to the carb...

Problem is still there, but not as noticable.

Ran well enough to get it sold!

I found that the little filters in the carbs would get plugged up with crap from the fuel tank/lines. Guess we'll be reading about a Newbee with a surging problem in the future. hehe
