    MPH/Speedometer Not Working

My speedometer is stuck. It stays on one specific number and changes now and then. Yesterday when I was riding for about an hour. It first said 0 mph. A while later it switched to 4.7 mph and stuck there. The last reading it was stuck at was 11.2. It is not a MFD issue. I can clearly ready both numbers very well. Where is the sensor that controls mph? Is this any easy fix? How do I repair it?

    Thank you

I'd check the pitot pick up at the pump intake area, the tube that runs the length of the boat and of course the MFD for blockage.
It doesn't take much to plug the passages, I usually just use compressed air and run it backward from the MFD.
Make sure the tube is plugged back it to the pitot or your hull will fill with water.

Also check the tube at the MFD end. Mine had a sharp bend and the plastic got hard from being old, almost closing the passage way off. I just clipped the end of the tube and stuck it back on, and all was good.

Thanks for the info I'll check on it this weekend. What flows through the tube? Is it water or air pressure?

Arrow Pitot tube gasket degradation (part 5810879)

I recently discovered that the speedometer pitot tube rubber gaskets (5810879, two per hull, part 5 in the diagram) on both my 2002 Virage TXi appear quite aged and cracked. One was a fresh water hull, one was a salt water boat.

I am concerned that this is a potential slow water leak, which could become a faster leak if the gasket(s) wash out while I am riding.

Has anyone else noticed this degree of gasket cracking and shrinking around the pitot tube fitting in the jet pump intake tunnel?

I also notice that one of the pitot fittings is not properly aligned with the water stream (which I presume would affect the speedo accuracy somewhat). I will fix the alignment when I install new pitot gaskets.

I think I'm experiencing a leak similar to what K447 described above...is this something that would affect a '94 750 or is this only on the newer models? How would one go about fixing this problem?

I don't have a spedometer but I do have that white fin looking plastic piece shown in the picture above and it seems to be leaking through there if possible!! Help is needed, I've already replaced the through-hull bearing thinking that was my issue and I still have a leak that I'm afraid will continue to get worse if I don't do something about it!

If you don't have a speedometer now (no MFD or analog speedometer gauge installed?), but you have the pitot, then your machine used to have a speedometer.

You need to install and cap off a small hose on the pitot nipple inside the hull, under the drive shaft. Otherwise, that small nipple will be spraying water into the hull when ever you are riding.
