A "good one" will do 58-59. Typically they are 56-58.

What about adding FA's. milled head, re-jet carbs, new prop. Then what? Thanks.

Stock prop is best overall...especially with stock pipe. With f/a's and head probably 60.

Why don't you join us up at Tobermory in August and check out my XP and JayZ's.

Down in Tennessee, I GPS'd mine at 60.5 consistantly. Stock prop and R&D intake grate, 85/88 nozzles, pump wedge and flame arresters.

However, I never seem to get top speed riding on the great lakes. Last year I put on a RFI pump and Concorde prop and I really like the way it launches the ski and doesn't slow down in the corners. I am using a 15/23 Concorde. I lost a few mph, but once I have a chance to test it properly in flat water, I am going to get Impros to repitch it. I also use 82/85 nozzles with the RFI pump.

If you feel like a drive to London, you are welcome to ride with us anytime.

    Mike,

If you pulled the grate you'd probably get 62 out of it with the pump wedge. Have you tried it yet?

smc...you should take Mike up on his offer. Mike's a big boy...so going 60.5 means he has a very good running ski.

i'm running 60 ish with mine as well (consistent high 59's). stock head and pipe. 'stock' air box still on there too instead of f/a. i have a pump wedge, xo prop, r&d intake, 85/88 nozzles. i also have the adjust-a-thrust on there but it doesn't seemed to have helped top end very much. i was expecting a 1mph gain but didn't see anything measurable. at the same time, i really didn't spend a whole lot of time testing it either. i would put a new shuttle in and take it for a quick spin. probably could spend some more time on that. i could also get some speed by going to the worx intake (or no intake) but like mike said, riding in the great lakes isn't very condusive to top speed runs. it's all about the bottom end for wave jumping.

rq, i believe that mike already has a pump wedge on there.

been spending most of this year getting the new to me xpl up to my standards. best gps of 62.2 but there was a ton of cavitation out of the hole and on top end.

Thanks guys. Mark is going to take my stock ski (Jay Edwortheys old stock boat) and give here pretty much everything she would need without reliability problems- F/A's, xo prop, milled head, extended ride plate......right now it a few neat things about it. First of all it's a "Jay" boat so it's running stock at 58mph and second it has a Baker Trim- I love this trim system so much I am going to put one on my RXP.
