New RXT. Should I change washers right away?

Hey guys. Well, next weekend i am going to get a new 07 rxt at Riva. This will be my first ski. I know all the ceramic washer problems and i am for sure going to replace them, but should i really change them before even putting it in the water. just drive home from Riva and change them or should i break it in first. Also while i am changing the washers should i just do the ceramic bearings too. Thanks for the info.

i bought a o7 rxt and jerry is changing my washers as we speak oh and adding a rotax racing super charger and xs intercooler, "much love jfizzle" and riva rear exit exhaust, and a few other goodies. but yes i would ihave 14 hours on it . it killed me to pull apart a new ski but it will be worth it. while you have it out make a few changes too. like me. no sense in pulling it out a 2nd or 3rd time. enjoy your new ski.

Sounds good. I does suck having to take apart new parts on a new ski, but i think i will feel better knowing there changed. Are the ceramic bearings worth doing or should i just do the washers.

Why drive it home, have Riva put them in before you take delivery. Make them throw them in with the ski purchase. I would take metal washers over 10 hour service any day of the week. I can't believe Riva still lets these ski's get out the door with ceramics still in them.

    You don't need ceramic bearings.

I was thinking the same thing. If its there and they have the "super washers" in stock, why dont they just do it?
