Newbie needs help buying 98 Speedster - what to look for, what to pay
I'm going to look at a 98 Speedster this Saturday. It will be my 1st boat, so I need some advice:
1) what to look for in terms of assessing it's condition. What to look/listen/feel for if I go for a demo ride?
2) These are the "known" defects:
a) one tachometer doesn't work
b) Fuel Guage doesn't work
c) reverse cable is snapped. He has new cable but not yet installed.
What would be the worst-case costs to repair these items?
3) what is it worth? Seller is planning on fixing A/B/C above, or should I ask for a discount of $??? instead and fix myself?
Thanks for helpin' a newbie out!

Make sure you look at the head pipe. And make sure the plugs on the pipe are not rotted away. Inspect the whole exhuast system for rot
