    hole drilled in top of rave valve cover, why?

    i've seen a few pics of xp's and they had holes drilled in the top of the rave valve cover. What is the purpose of that??

    just so you can see if the rave valve is working by looking through the hole

    gotcha, i thought it was maybe some type of pressure relief or something.

    Just a quick easy way to eliminate that a rpm loss problem is due to a stuck RAVE. Tuners/racers can move on to the next suspected area.

    Is it a worth-while endeavor to try to get them to open perfectly together. Or will the second follow the first anyway?

    They never follow eachother. On 800's they open individually based on spring tension (red cap clicks). But adjusting them to open together is the desired thing.

    On 951's they open simultaneously because both are opened from a common solenoid.

    After 5000rpm's it doesnt matter as long as there open. You want them open after that and can be adjusted with the red caps.

    mine open well before 5000rpm thats for sure

    i think mine only close for idle
    as soon as i crack that throttle they burst open
