    Which Reeds Are Best

LOOKS LIKE I BROKE SOME REEDS YESTERDAY. I KNOW THIS TOPIC HAS BEEN BROUGHT UP BEFORE, BUT I ALREADY HAD THE 3'S SO I WASN'T PAYING MUCH ATTENTION.

    PORTED 1300 EFI

BY THE WAY , I GOT A WHOPPIN 5 HOURS OUT OF THIS SET. $100.00/HOUR.

Not Sure. Haven't Tore It Down Yet, But It Was Pretty Obvious By The Way It Sounded And Would Not Restart.

I was only asking because I had a middle reed fail on #1 fail- pretty sure it was from a backfire I had.

Well at least this time you should only have to replace a petal instead of the whole thing, so the cost will be alot better. Alot of guys are'nt going to touch this topic because it often turns into a pissing match. I personaly like VF2s and VF3s but I would tell you to stick with the VF3s since you already have them.

    Reeds

I've had good luck with Frecho's VF3 setup put them in 2 1300's but I did ditch the stuffers when I put on my sonic boom setup on both. But Just to be clear that was only a preventative measure the stuffers were OK no warpage on either boat. The fact is these reeds do just what he told me they would do.

Where did you get this reeds from??? If you got them directly from me call me and I see what I can do. I have only 1 cage failure at low hours from an engine seizure.

Porksword, I do not have an issue with anyone posting that one of my cages have failed, and am willing to discuss this here. The number of VF III out there used for rec riding with over 80 hours, out numbers the number of sets that failed prematurely about 100:1. I have about 250 sets out there with 1 or 2 reported premature failures.

    Peace

Call up rius racing and get yourself some of the reeds they use.. Theres a reason they use them and they are a professional race team. Im using them for the last 5 yrs and no even a fray..

I've got slightly over 100 hours on my VF3's from Fercho, and I just inspected them 2 weeks ago. They looked flawless, like they'd never been used. I believe this is what most people will find.
