    Hull Scratches & Scrapes

Here are a few pics of my hull. I've seen these types of things on many other hulls but like most people, after seeing all this delamination BS, I am wondering if it is something to worry about. I touched up most of the spots with gel coat repair. Don't think I did an expert job, but something is better than nothing IMO. For the most part there are just scratches and scrapes. There were only 3 very small places where some fiber glass was visible.

Edit: Wanted to make it clear that these pics are before the attempted repair.

I would say your fine also.

When I first got the ski the trailer was never adjusted correctly at the dealer and was slightly resting on one of the U bolts under the ski. Luckly I saw it before it ever hit the water and got some of that gel coat repair. A piece did just rip off the other day and was repaired again, but cross fingers no delam happened with me.

what gel coat repair kit are you using? I have some small chunks on my ski from banging on rocks. The holes are smal (less than a nickle) in size. but you can see the fiberglass. I was thinking of using JB Weld then sand it and paint

I'm not 100% positive because I can't even remember, but I think I got the basic kit from boatersworld.com.

    There are several options there.

I see you added the Jr back. Yours doesn't look as bad as some, but with the constant wear that you have it's like sanding down the gel coat till it's egg shell thin.

I have used JB on a couple spots underneath with no issues. I use the gelcoat repair up top.

I just try to keep from beaching mine if I can help it. The only time I will do it is if I can find a sandy beach with no rocks. I have no deep scratches or nics in my hull. Just the fine scratches from normal riding. Should I do anything?
