2007-2016 RXP-RXPX Thread Of The Year!!!
Well I dont know where to start so here goes. Me and a buddy bought (2) 2006 RXP's last August 2006. We rode them broke them in and mine lost the washers at 11hrs in October. Then I lost my boat to a dealer for 4 months until January 2007.
April 2007 I buy a Rotax racing wheel installed by the seller in my supercharger with ceramic bearings and steel washers. Bolt it up in May after i finally get it back and take one lap around 75 acre lake it only runs 6600RPM like when I lost washers.
I take supercharger off and the wheel is rubbing front cover housing so now my motor is GONE after 5 minutes it blew more aluminum dust in the motor than you could believe. Looked like someone painted the inside of the intake and head grey. Seller of impeller is redoing my motor but still has my boat after 2 months.
So I go with a different buddy and we buy (2) 2007 RXP in May 2007 when I shipped 2006 RXP to get repaired so I could continue to ride. My 2007 loses washers at 11hrs end of May.
So here I sit with a 2006/2007 BROKEN RXP and now I have my 2007 COMPLETELY DISMANTLED MYSELF as you can tell from following photos I have provided.
I will NOT go to a dealer EVER again and bought $800.00 worth of SEA DOO tools and have my motor out, my supercharger apart and CUT OFF for 4" venturi adaptor and also have my ride plate out and my pump shoe out.
The motor had ceramic washers in BOTH ends and the oil pumps were ate up.
Parts just got here to start getting motor back together and still DONT have front oil pump cover supposedly due to supply from Rotax but here I set.
The pump shoe was off by a MILE thru the hullboot so i removed it as well after reviewing it with my aligment tools. So im doing it ALL myself and rebuilding my BRAND NEW 2007 RXP with 11 hrs on it.
I did bolt a STAGE III kit to my first buddies 2006 RXP it cavitates a bit out of the hole but did GPS @ 77.6MPH. Other than the cavitation it is flawless. Pump shoe needs removed and trued to the hull boot then the motor needs trued to the shoe and I believe it will STOP and pickup speed as well.
I also believe it needs a drive shaft boot but the one they offer you need maching done to the shaft and that scares me a bit. Is it the approximate 3 1/2" where the shaft is flat by the PTO the maching is done and is that where the seal and bearing ride?
Now for my questions:
1) Can anyone tell me where to get a pump shoe that DOESNT have LUMPS on the seal face or does someone have a threaded brass crush sleeve out of a broke shoe I could buy, borrow or STEAL?
2)Does anyone true up the seal face of these shoes??? because they come from the factory lumped up on the seal face!!!! check photos new shoe on left looks worse than my old shoe on right!
3)Coulnt a guy layer a small even as possible bead of silicone on the seal face trying to ELIMINATE the lumps and helping with the uneveness of the face??
Let me know what you guys think im just and IDIOT with 30+k laying on the dirt trying to get it on the water. thanks
OH YEAH!!!!!!! I currently have $6000.00 worth of hop up parts of my own sitting on my trailer ready to go on my 2007 but havent even got all them bolted up yet and my boat looks like the following photos: (IM SICK)

Hope this pig does 80+ with the TRUED shoe,motor, and motor hop ups. GREAT THREADS AS WELL JERRY. wish me luck and let me know about the shoes if you fellas have any answers. If not I can always SELL OUT and go back to internet porn! hahahahaaha LATER DUDES!!!!!

thanks L man i just want a SOLID boat that DOESNT cavitate and rips 78+ solid. i also put the ROTAX 158 degree thermo so she should walk the dog bro! at least when i go to bed at night i PRAY for it to! hahahaha good luck with your own boat as well.

man I feel for you. It is a good thing you know your way around a wrench and piston!
800 in tools? holy $hit!!!! that is going to blow my budget all to hell.
Just out of curiosity, who put that impeller in for you?

Ok I have a dumb question, Why did you run the 2007 with the ceramic washers in it? I can MAYBE see the 2006, because MAYBE you didnt know any better, but to buy a second ski and not change the washers makes no sense.

i can say hes telling truth i bought other 2007 mine ran till 18 putting in metal washers and other things now as you can tell though he has all the luck LOL we have both 07s tore down

my fault Ultra just thought i would get one to the FIRST oil change BEFORE i cracked her open. wish i had hinesight but i dont bro. U tell me U would have thought U would get two in a row that would blow. get real dog. i dont need hacked on i need help. thanks anyway.

It just seems you know your way around a Jet Ski, figured you knew the inheriant problems with a Seadoo.

inherant problems sure. 2 for 2 problems BEFORE the FIRST oil change NEVER! u know what they say about no luck and im ridin it right now. i will get it but its tough watching my buds blast while i wrench. especially since i built the 2006 for my buddy and i have the test track, party spot beach in MY back yard.
plus the rest of the story is i bought a ski back from the guy i sold it to a 1998 GSX Limited. i sold it to Jim Budnick. he did a bunch of work to it and sold it back to me and the unit wanst charging when he brought it back and he wont stand behind it. so i actually and truly have 3 BROKE boats, THE TESTTRACK and im the wrench now so go figure. hahahaha heres a pic of the test track out the back door of the garage where the 98 and 07 are sitting now. its usually VERY calm for MAX speeds on GPS too. just so you kow i just started wrenching on these 4 tec motors after getting F&*KED by everybody so im NEW here as well but I can read and take it all seriously for boat reliability, MAX performance and FUN.
