Easy way to do oil change!

I did my wifes oil change today and found a much easier way to do it. Instead of going in from the front of the engine and having to take off hoses and oil sensor I stuck my arm under the manifold and went in from the back. It was so nice and it gives your wrist a natural turning position. Plus, I used my oil cannister cup attached to my ratchet and it took me a total of 5 minutes to take the filter out and replace. Didn't even have to take the oil sensor off! Not bad. When I put the oil filter back on I was able to turn it almost to the place of torque that it was supposed to be at. Sweet!

Where did you get the filter wrench? I have not been able to locate one like that?

Speedjuice, I knew someone was going to make fun of that! But, hey, anything that makes life easier I'm gonna share it!

BTW, it was a special blend from Saudi Arabia!

Is it just a basic oil filter wrench or is there a "special" part number?

They do have several different sizes but just take your filter with you when you go. I think it was about $6 but works very efficently. It was so simple and only took 5 minutes. If you have a short torque wrench you can even fit it in through the back with no problem. You wouldn't be able to see it but you could hear it click when you got the right torque.

Just make sure you let the manifold cool off!
