    Lightbulb

yep, pulling the pump is best.

I have also done this in the past....

    * remove the intake grate and use a box knife and cut it out in peices.
    * pull the spark plugs, use a glove and rotate the shaft coupler in the opposite direction to help unwind it.

I've done both to remove rope.

otherwise, depending on how bad it is,you may have to pull the pump

crap its brand new and we dont have a trailer for it yet, and looking at it its obviously not something that can be done on the water :/ i think i might be better off calling someone to fix it :/

is there a shoreline you can tilt it on its "right" side for a short period of time to pull the grate and see if you can pull out some rope ?

there is a shore i could use but i just went down and had another look, theres several feet (4 or 5 O_o) stuck in there so i just called the people who normally repair our boats and there going to come and get it : prays for no damage:
