    Wonky intake grate

I fitted my RIVA grate this weekend, it all went fine, didnt even need to heat the old bolts to remove them.

However, the 'wing' on the new grate revealed something kinda disturbing...

On one side the wing is under 1mm from the pump tunnel, on the other its got about half a centimeter! - Is this normal!?!

Reasonalbly clean - a little bit of silicone on the front (single bolt) end

Its not like anything in there could move it in that axis, it just seemed to be where the holes were.

I didnt see it on the stock grate but it didnt have anything close enough to the pump tunnel to give such a dramatic difference - were BRP having a bad day when they put my inserts into the hull?

Your stock one layed flat, but the aftermarket one doesn`t!? hmmm...
Is it a PITA to remove and lay on flat surface to see if the aftermarket one is bent? Can you take a pic and post it...

no noticable size difference in the way the wings are made?
could be just the mold of the hull!?...PR...

Its not that the wing is higher one side, its just closer to the edge.

Theres no bowing really its just like the front bolt of off-centre from the middle of the tunnel - so its closer to the right side sponson than the left (as you sit on the ski)

Im at college at the moment I'll try to get a picture once I get home, its a bit awkward cos its crammed into a single garage with a motorbike and tons of other junk

Thanks Todd, nice to know mines not the only one! I had to drill some of the paint off the grate to get the bolt through anyway so Im concidering moving the whole.

Think I'll try it first though - I wont do it straight away unless I can actually feel any pull or I lose speed

wow I thought I was the only one with a fit problem on the riva grate. I wasn't able to fit one of the bolts into the hole. Because of this I added gorilla glue to the grate, that bastard isn't comming out, ever.

LOL - I was a bit nervous about getting the balance beween tight enough and not un-seating the hull inserts, I could get mine off agian, but I'm hoping I wont need too!
