I have a 1200 grate and a riva ride plate im planning to get the R&D plate from jim soon for choppy water. What do you mean by my hull being true??

the bottom of these skis are not even close to being true or flat. take a 4' straight edge and set it against the rear part of the hull. you will notice low spots, these need to be sanded out. it is easier if you flip the ski upside down to do this. make sure ALL surfaces on the bottom of your ski are flat and smooth, this includes ride plate and trim tabs. jim has some fast ride plates, i use the new style r&d 1300 ride plate trued and sanded smooth. these mods require A LOT of grinding and sanding, but it's worth it!
