    I just bought this one

I just purchased the Garmin etrex for $87.00 on walmart.com If your just looking for a GPS for your Max. Speed,Avrg. Speed and Distance the Garmin etrex is perfect. It's only 4" tall x 2" wide. It's waterproof also. I will come in the mail tomorrow or thursday so I'll let you know how I like it. It's a good basic GPS for a great price. Here is a photo

That's what I've been using for 2 years. perfect for my needs. only problem is that sometimes rough water can make it shut down. always turns right back on, but I think the batteries move a little

I use the handlebar mount. I assume that this is going on your boat, so browse through this page. https://buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=6403

They have a few different mounting options.

Hey if its the batteries, try prying the springs on the negative side out so they fit in tighter. I have done this on a lot of my electronics.

Anyone have the Garmin 76. It is water proof and floats. I was thinking about getting it.

    Garmin etrex

I recieved my Garmin etrex GPS today and I'm realy impressed with this thing.
It does evrything I was looking for in a basic GPS. In the photo you will see I have on the trip computer page on this page I can select 5 0f 31 fields to be dispayed at the same time. In this configuration you will see I have selected: Trip Odometer,Max Speed,Average Moving Speed,Time of day and Time moving. It's realy easy to work and I'm suprised how good the display is very easy to see and it also has a back light for night time. I didn't try it on the water yet in my jet-boat but I tried it in my truck and it works nicley! I gotta say for $87.00 this is a great little gps. I will post pics of it mounted on my Sportster after I recieve my Mount from Ram Mounts...

I was gonna get the Garmin 76 but I realy don't need all those features and it was quite a bit larger in size at 6" long and my etrex is nice and compact at only 4" long.

I have the 76s, bought it for less than $200 with shipping. It works great. Its waterproof AND floats! I velcro it on the glove box and wrap strap on docking hook just below handlebars for safety.
