I'm thinking @ 80+ I should consider wearing a helmet. It appears a motocross helmet is what most racers wear. What brands or types should one consider? Full face or half face? Are they ok to get wet? The visor on the front scares me as I would think it could dig in like a paddle and snap your neck. Would like some feedback from people that use helmets. I assume at 80+ you could crack your skull if you hit a wave wrong and came off the ski.

You should consider any DOT approved helmet. Full face for me because half face is not going to protect your face when you hit the handle bars. I get mine wet all the time just rinse it out and let it dry. There are 2 pop rivets on the side that seem to rust, make sure you dry that out and put some lube on it. I worried about the visor and have fallen off and nothing has happened. But then again I wasn't going 80+ mph. I think that peice would break off before your neck would. And if you can go 80+mph in the surf with waves you the man. :P
