Why is the center carb tuned differently?
Was dialing in the 97 the other week and set up my carb needles to stock as a starting point. In the Yamaha manual they want the high speed needle on the center carb to be 7/8 out and the other 2 carbs to only be 1/2 a turn out. Whats the deal with this? I have Buckshot modded 47's and an R&D flame arrestor.
By the way, the GP hauls A$$. Goes from zero to holy sh*t real fast. That Skat magnum pump really keeps the boat hooked in the chop.

I like stagered jetting but have run aftermarket goodies with all 3 jetted the same.
piston wash and plug chops are a good guide.
glad you like the GP

It has to do with the exhaust pulses too. Just check your piston wash and adjust the carbs until they all burn evenly. Think of each carb& cylinder as it's own little engine.
