MFD wont go to sleep
Hope someone can help me with this one. Thought my MFD was busted on a new SL900 I just bought but a little basic electrical diag and found that the MFD is working fine, must be a wiring issue in the elec box.
My problem is that when I jumped 12v to the MFD, it lights up great I can use the mode and set buttons...all good. Buuuuuut, I went back into the garage after dinner and the display did not go back to sleep. Left it for like an hour and it still wasn't even close to rubbing it's eyes.
What gives? Anybody got a wiring diagram for this puppy?
Thanks in advance.

Turk, what shows on the MFD?
The wiring is simply 12 volts (red/purple) at pin one and of course ground.
If you have an amp meter you can check the actual drain at the battery.

I used a jumper wire to connect the 12v battery cable from inside the top of the elec box to the red/purple wire on the bottom side of the box. Now there was definitly some funny stuff going on in this elec box before I got it cuz there are a couple of aftermarket black screw type fuse holders in the elec box that were crimped together. These were the bilge pump and the MFD. I disconnected everything in there and jumped 12v to the red/purp wire.
MFD display comes up and shows like 00.0 and then the time 12:00. I hit mode and it toggles between all the other stuff like hours, rpms, timer, etc.
Hope that answers your question.

I think I'd spend the 22 bucks and replace the electrical board and wire it as it was from the factory. It works.
With the MFD getting power and asleep it should show the clock.

That's interesting, so when it goes to sleep, it doesn't actually go completely blank but it does show time?

I guess you could say it sleeps with one eye open.

I'll be ordering the $22 elec board and wire as from factory. I assume I buy from eBay?

I'm sure you're going to need to hit a dealer.
Check out some of the vendors in the "General" section under vendors.
