'97 SLX - add a reverse bucket?
Greetings, 1st post (from a 1st time rider/owner).
Forgive my ignorance - I'm not totally sure which model Polaris PWC it is, but I think it's a SLX.... (2 seater, black hood red MFD hood, red grab handles at rear of seat, red seat, blue heads on triple cylinder, three individual air cleaners...)
In any case, it doesn't come stock with reverse, can a reverse bucket and associated actuator hardware be added and not affect forward performance?
how is it actuated ? (cable? Solenoid?)
Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the Green Hulk Ben!!
You can install the reverse set up with ease, I haven't noticed it affect the handling or top speed of the craft.
Polaris sells a kit, I've seen them on e-bay.
Double check to make sure it's not a PRO785 first.
If you look at my gallery (link below), look in the 750 section and you will find the reverse set up installed on a 750. If you look at the photo's you'll see the installation process.
You can also search reverse here and I outlined the install on my 750 project.
Others have done it as well, no complaints that I'm aware of.

My Camera isn't available, so I can't post a pic - how do I tell?
I have a single style red seat, dead-man's switch is on killswitch on left handlebar, fuel shut-off on right side below seat edge, twist-type lock on front storage cover....

Single exhaust pipe = SLX780
Triple exhaust pipes and power valves = PRO785

3 minutes too late on my part - some resaerch just showed me the same thing.
I have a single exhaust and no exhaust power valves.
I'll price out the reverse kit OEM fircht from my LDS (Local Stuff Dealer), then try ebay/aftermaket.
Thanks a bunch.
