SC Install Torque
Just got my rebuilt SC back from Jerry and have some questions on the install onto my 2004 GTX.
What is the correct torque on the SC bolts? The repair/shop manual I have says 10 N m in the install procedure and shows 30 N m in a schematic of the SC. How critical is the torque?
I used some 1/4" lock washers along with 10 mm hex bolts (replacing the Torx bolts).
Can the attachment bolt torque change the SC drag moment?
I ask this after I read in the repair/shop manual about having to do a drag moment measurement after the SC install. This involves using a cam lock tool to prevent engine rotation, and somehow measuring drag moment.
Is this really necessary?

Checking the slip moment and the three bolts that hold the S/C to the engine two totally different things. IF Jerry did the S/C, you do not need to check the slip moment. As far as the three bolts, just snug them up and then maybe 1/4 turn extra. Dont overtighten them. dont worry about the torque spec.

some loctite on the mounting bolts and the ole' arm torque wrench are all I use, like Steve-o said, just snug em up.
