Gelcoat Getting Scratched By Carpeted Bunk Cross Member?

I have an 06 Sportster with the Karavan trailer it came with. I noticed my gelcoat is getting scratched on the lower part of the keel by the small carpeted crossmember on my trailer. Has anybody got rid of the cross member and installed a rubber roller instead? Any info or pics of your roller would be a great help.

I did not get a roller, but I did buy a rubber keel guard which screws down to that bunk. Although I have not put it on yet, it appears it will do the job. It may leave a gray mark on the hull, but I figured it would come off rather than having the large scrapes on there from the stupid carpet/wood. I got it from Overton's but I believe Boaters World or the like would have it. It was about $10.
