If it's been opened .100 (like in that thread you linked to), it would be hard to tell in pics.

    To me, it looks stock.

    That's the beauty of it.
This one machinist @ my work is old school and a freaken perfectionist.
I was happy when he just opened it up along the bottom, but he had to round the corders, file the edges, sand the edges.....

R&D plate opened up to .200. This is going on the 1300.

Does the .200 larger opening bring it closer to the size of Riva's?

I guess. From Kerrys response, the Group K and Riva plate only have to be opened .100.
From what I understand, when you lose the cat-con, you drop 40-50 rpm and from what Kerry said, this little mod will add 40-50 rpm over the stock d-plate. In theory, by replacing the c-con with this modded d-plate, there should be no rpm loss, or gain. I will not know because I have yet to put a tach on the 1300 for a base line rpm test. I have no reason to doubt Kerry on this, only wish I had the time to do back to back testing.

Right on. I was just asking because the Riva D-plate opening is a little larger than the R&D one.
